Description
The Glazing specialist (glazier) position involves the installation, repair and maintenance of glazing systems on a variety of residential, commercial, institutional and industrial projects. This role is essential to ensure the functionality, safety and aesthetics of glass installations in different types of buildings.
Responsibilities
• Prepare, assemble, install, frame and adjust glass products and all similar works made of metals or substitute materials.
• Install and repair all kinds of windows, spandrel panels, ornamental or decorative objects (e.g.: mirrors), prefabricated coverings, curtain walls (prefabricated or not), doors, windows, garage doors, storefronts or similar works made of metal sheets or moldings.
• Take precise measurements and carry out installations according to project specifications.
• Use specialized tools and equipment to ensure accurate and safe installation.
• Repair or replace damaged glass, frames and faulty glass systems following proper procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve operating problems with glass installations.
• Apply sealants and waterproofing products to ensure the tightness of glass installations and prevent water and air infiltration.
• Work at height safely using personal protective equipment and respecting site safety standards.
• Interact with customers to understand their needs and expectations and provide quality service by responding to their questions and concerns.
Requirements
• Diploma or studies in Installation and Repair of Glazing Systems or in a related field, an asset.
• Experience as a glazier or in a similar position, preferably in the construction sector, an asset.
• Knowledge of glazing installation and repair techniques, as well as associated materials and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
