Description
The Survey Supply Technician plays an essential role in supporting survey operations on construction sites. He is responsible for managing the supplies, equipment and materials necessary for surveying work. His job is to ensure that survey teams have all the tools and resources necessary to successfully complete their tasks in the field.
Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of surveying equipment, tools and supplies.
• Place orders with suppliers for the purchase of surveying equipment, including instruments, markers, stakes and accessories.
• Receive and inspect deliveries of surveying equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and quality.
• Organize the storage and arrangement of surveying equipment to ensure their availability and safety.
• Prepare surveying equipment kits needed for each project based on specific requirements.
• Distribute surveying equipment to teams in the field, taking into account project needs and deadlines.
• Ensure regular maintenance and necessary repairs of surveying equipment to ensure their proper functioning.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, expenses and uses of surveying equipment.
• Collaborate with field teams to respond to requests for surveying equipment and materials.
• Follow current health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment in the surveying department.
• Ensure quality management of equipment (calibration and repair) and old technology.
Requirements
• Degree in civil engineering, in surveying or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in the field of surveying or equipment management, an asset.
• Knowledge of surveying instruments and their uses.
• Ability to read and interpret topographical plans and survey drawings, an asset.
• Organizational and inventory management skills to maintain an efficient and orderly inventory.
• Good communication skills to coordinate survey equipment needs with field crews.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail and rigor in the management of arp equipment and supplies
• Written and oral communication skills.
