Description

The Construction Site Assistant plays an essential role in the administrative and operational support of multi-residential, commercial, institutional and industrial construction projects. He assists the site team in the daily management of activities, thus contributing to the smooth running and success of projects.

Responsibilities

    Assist the Site Manager and Foremen in coordinating and planning site activities, ensuring that necessary resources are available in a timely manner.
    Perform administrative tasks such as preparing documents, maintaining records, managing communications, and writing site reports.
    Coordinate site meetings, including preparing the agenda, taking notes and distributing minutes to stakeholders.
    Manage construction documents and drawings, ensuring their appropriate distribution and regular updating.
    Monitor deliveries of materials and equipment to the site, coordinating delivery schedules with subcontractors and suppliers.
    Monitor the progress of work on site, reporting any delays and proposing solutions to resolve them.
    Ensure compliance with health and safety standards on site, ensuring that rules and procedures are followed by all workers.
    Collaborate with various project stakeholders, including subcontractors, engineers, architects and inspectors, to ensure proper coordination of activities.
    Participate in the assessment of risks on the site and the development of action plans to minimize potential risks.
    Assist in the management of costs and budgets allocated to the project, tracking expenses and reporting any discrepancies to the site manager.
    Perform any other related task.

Requirements

    Degree in architecture, civil engineering, building engineering or in a related field.
    Experience in a similar role in the construction industry an asset.
    Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
    Good command of reading plans.
    Be able to move from one job site to another.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of people.
    Knowledge of project management and office software, such as MS Office, Procore, or equivalent, an asset.
    Developed sense of initiative, problem solving and decision-making.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality and customer service.
    Attention to detail and ability to work with precision and rigor in an environment where meeting deadlines is essential.
