Description
The Warehouse Clerk is a key part of stock management in a construction company. They are responsible for receiving, organizing, and shipping materials, tools, and equipment required for projects. This role demands strong attention to detail to ensure inventory accuracy and smooth operations. Working under the supervision of the warehouse manager, the clerk collaborates with internal teams to meet site requirements efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
• Receive deliveries of materials, tools, and equipment and verify their compliance with purchase orders.
• Unpack, label, and store items in the warehouse in an orderly and accessible manner.
• Prepare orders and shipments for job sites or internal clients.
• Accurately track stock inflows and outflows in the inventory system.
• Report inventory discrepancies, missing items, or damages to the warehouse manager.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse that complies with health and safety standards.
• Participate in periodic inventory counts and provide precise reports.
• Operate handling equipment such as pallet trucks or forklifts to move heavy materials.
• Follow storage procedures to protect materials from damage or loss.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment (an asset).
• Basic proficiency in inventory management software or tools (Excel or specialized software).
• Ability to handle heavy loads and work in a physical environment.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure stock accuracy.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety standards (an asset).
• Certification for operating handling equipment (forklifts) is an asset.
