Description
The AutoCAD Drafter plays a key role in the design and execution of construction projects. They are responsible for creating technical drawings and detailed plans using AutoCAD software, in collaboration with engineers, architects, and project managers. These drawings serve as essential guides for construction teams and suppliers, ensuring projects meet standards, specifications, and deadlines. This position requires excellent proficiency in AutoCAD, a solid understanding of construction principles, and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
• Design and produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, based on project requirements.
• Create layout, structural, mechanical, or other plans related to construction projects.
• Update existing plans to reflect modifications made by engineers, architects, or project managers.
• Collaborate with team members to understand technical requirements and ensure drawings meet specifications.
• Attend project meetings to discuss progress, needs, and necessary adjustments.
• Perform basic calculations to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of plans.
• Review drawings to identify and correct any errors or omissions before submitting them for approval.
• Ensure that all drawings comply with current standards, building codes, and contractual specifications.
• Organize and maintain a database of drawings and technical documents.
• Provide technical support to construction teams by interpreting plans as needed.
Requirements
• Diploma in technical drawing, architecture, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and computer-aided design software.
• Strong understanding of construction principles, materials, and systems.
• Relevant experience in technical drawing within the construction industry is an asset.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce precise, high-quality drawings.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create technical plans, specifications, and sketches.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members.
