Description
The Revit Drafter plays a crucial role in the design and modeling of construction projects. They use Revit software to produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings, which serve as the foundation for project planning and execution. Working closely with engineers, architects, and project managers, the Revit Draftsperson ensures that models and plans comply with established standards, specifications, and deadlines. This position requires excellent Revit proficiency, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
• Create and maintain detailed 3D models using Revit for various phases of construction projects.
• Produce technical drawings, elevations, sections, and isometric views from Revit models.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate information and specifications into the models.
• Coordinate different systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing) within the BIM models.
• Update models to reflect changes made during the design or construction phases.
• Verify the accuracy of models and drawings by identifying and resolving technical conflicts or inconsistencies.
• Adhere to BIM standards and internal protocols to ensure the quality and consistency of deliverables.
• Perform basic simulations or analyses (quantities, clashes) to support project teams.
• Provide technical support to construction teams by interpreting models and drawings as needed.
• Organize and maintain a library of Revit families and project-related resources.
Requirements
• Diploma in technical drawing, architecture, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Revit and a solid understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) principles, an asset.
• Relevant experience in modeling and technical drawing for construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction standards, codes, and BIM coordination processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans and project documents.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of complementary software (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Dynamo) is an asset.
• Analytical mindset to anticipate problems and propose constructive solutions.
