Description

The Parts Clerk working in the mechanical department of a construction company is responsible for the efficient management of parts and materials necessary for the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. This role is essential to ensuring that the company's vehicles, machinery and equipment are maintained in good working order to support operations on construction sites.

Responsibilities

    Receive deliveries of parts and materials intended for the mechanical department, verify their compliance with purchase orders and specifications.
    Inspect parts and materials to ensure quality and condition before storing.
    Identify, label and arrange parts and materials in the mechanical department warehouse, following a logical filing system for easy access and searching.
    Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and materials in the company's inventory management system.
    Prepare parts and material orders for mechanics based on their needs and work orders.
    Search for parts from suppliers.
    Respond to parts requests from mechanics.
    Collaborate with mechanics to ensure necessary parts and materials are available in a timely manner for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
    Handle returns of defective or incorrect parts, follow company established procedures for exchanges or refunds.
    Assist mechanics in the process of finding specific parts and materials when necessary.
    Maintain order and cleanliness of the mechanical department warehouse, ensuring that storage spaces are organized and secure.
    Perform administrative tasks such as documenting transactions, preparing inventory reports and updating tracking records.

Requirements

    Degree in technical advice in vehicle maintenance and repair, or in advice and sale of motorized equipment parts, an asset.
    Experience in a similar position, preferably in a mechanical or construction environment, an asset.
    Knowledge of parts and materials used in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
    Ability to use IT tools for inventory management (inventory management software, MIR-RT, Excel, etc.), an asset.
    Ability to work independently and in a team.
    Good physical fitness to handle sometimes heavy parts and equipment.
    Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing demands.
    Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in inventory management tasks.
    Good verbal and written communication skills.
