Description
As a Paver Operator, you are responsible for handling and operating a paver for laying asphalt on construction sites. Your role will be to ensure the quality, safety and efficiency of the paving process, contributing to the construction and maintenance of the region's essential road infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Skillfully manipulate the paver to distribute asphalt evenly and precisely on designated surfaces.
• Adjust paver settings, such as speed, temperature and asphalt flow rate, to ensure quality pavement meets project specifications.
• Carefully monitor the paving process for defects or irregularities and make necessary adjustments in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure compliance with project standards and requirements.
• Carry out regular checks of the paver to ensure its proper operation and safety.
• Perform basic maintenance and report technical or mechanical problems to supervisor.
• Follow OHS policies, rules and instructions to ensure that your work is carried out in a manner that ensures your own health and safety, as well as that of your colleagues.
• Complete the various equipment breakdown reports for the daily maintenance of equipment for the mechanical workshop.
• Help maintain a safe work environment by reporting potential hazards and following established safety procedures.
Requirements
• Hold a required license.
• Have knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and electricity.
• Previous experience as a paver operator or similar position.
• Working knowledge of paving equipment and paving techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and work instructions.
• Basic mechanical skills to perform paver maintenance.
• Compliance with safety standards and regulations in force on construction sites.
