Description
As a Refrigeration Technician - Commercial and Industrial, you are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems used in commercial and industrial environments. You ensure the proper functioning of refrigeration equipment to guarantee optimal storage and preservation conditions for products in businesses.
You must install, maintain, verify and control the operation of various types of refrigeration systems and equipment, particularly in industries, but also in supermarkets, sports centers, arenas, ski resorts, municipalities, universities, etc.
Responsibilities
• Install and commission commercial and industrial refrigeration systems according to plans and specifications.
• Install, troubleshoot, test, and maintain various types of industrial refrigeration, cooling, and freezing systems (such as refrigerated storage systems, liquid cooling systems, gas refrigeration systems, cold rooms, air conditioners for industrial machinery, ice systems, etc.).
• Perform preventive inspections on refrigeration equipment to detect potential issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and regulation valves.
• Conduct pressure tests and adjustments on refrigeration systems to ensure their efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
• Carry out preventive maintenance operations, such as cleaning units, replacing filters, and monitoring refrigerant levels.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their refrigeration needs and propose solutions tailored to their activities.
• Adhere to safety standards and environmental regulations in all refrigeration operations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and work hours for billing and documentation purposes.
Requirements
• Degree in refrigeration or a related field.
• Valid refrigeration technician certification.
• Experience in commercial and industrial refrigeration, an asset.
• Knowledge of ammonia, freon, or CO2 systems, an asset.
• Understanding of electrical and electronic systems, an asset.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
