Description
The Site Engineer assists the project manager in the various tasks associated with the site, including: planning, organization and execution support, negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors, method support of work.
Responsibilities
• Plan and ensure proper coordination of work with foremen, surveyors, superintendents, engineers, project managers and subcontractors.
• Plan, supervise and participate in the development of appropriate construction methods and processes related to contractual requirements, while respecting current health and safety requirements.
• Collaborate on project estimates and submissions.
• Participate in meetings with customers, engineers and project managers.
• Assist, review and communicate technical questions and change requests to the customer representative and perform necessary follow-ups.
• Obtain the permits and authorizations required for the execution of the work.
• Assist the superintendent in various administrative and technical tasks.
• Plan and check orders for materials (various metal parts, formwork, reinforcement, etc.).
• Follow up (validate content) on shop drawings and other required contractual documents as needed.
• Coordinate the design of temporary works required for the progress of the site with the design engineers.
• Participate in the creation and updating of project schedules.
• Perform various monitoring tasks on site.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, civil engineering technique or any other combination of equivalent experience and training.
• Knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel).
• Basic knowledge in MS Project.
• AutoCAD, an asset.
• Great mobility and availability.
• Planning, organization and excellent interpersonal relationships.
• Demonstrate initiative, discretion and professionalism.
• Foresighted, ability to manage pressure, available.
• Rigor in his work.
• Excellent ability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
