Description

The Architectural Technologist occupies a key position by actively participating in the design and management of projects in various sectors, including residential, commercial, institutional and/or industrial. By working closely with architects, engineers and construction teams, the architectural technologist contributes to the delivery of high-quality construction projects that comply with standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

    Produce technical drawings from instructions, functional/technical plans and sketches.
    Participate in the architectural design of residential, commercial, institutional and/or industrial projects, using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.
    Prepare detailed architectural drawings, including plans, sections, elevations and details, following project specifications and client requirements.
    Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative and functional architectural concepts, taking into account aesthetic, functional, technical and budgetary considerations.
    Coordinate plans and specifications, as well as construction details with project collaborators.
    May be required to assist in the preparation of bid documents, building permit applications and other documents necessary to obtain regulatory approvals.
    May be required to conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, take technical surveys and gather information necessary for design.
    Ensure the coordination of information between the different disciplines (architecture, structure, mechanics, electricity, etc.) to guarantee the integration and coherence of the project.
    May be required to provide technical support to construction teams during the construction phase, answering questions and providing clarifications on drawings and specifications.
    May be required to monitor the progress of the project, in collaboration with the assigned project team, identify potential problems and propose solutions to ensure compliance with quality standards and deadlines.

Requirements

    Degree in architectural technology or a related field.
    Experience in a similar role in the construction field, an asset.
    Good knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.
    Knowledge of building codes, construction standards and applicable municipal regulations.
    Ability to work independently and in a team, with attention to detail and organizational skills.
    Good verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
