Description
The BIM Modeler - Building plays a crucial role in creating and managing detailed 3D models for multi-residential, commercial, institutional and industrial construction projects. You use Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to collaborate with design and construction teams, ensuring the integration and coordination of building information throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
• Use BIM software such as Revit, ArchiCAD, or equivalent to create and modify 3D models of buildings and related structures.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and other project team members to understand project requirements and translate concepts into accurate BIM models.
• Create model elements such as walls, floors, ceilings, stairs, doors and windows following design and construction standards.
• Integrate building-related data such as materials, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and construction information into the BIM model.
• Ensure model coordination with other disciplines such as structural, electrical, plumbing and landscape to ensure project integrity and compatibility.
• Perform collision analyzes to detect potential conflicts between building elements and propose design solutions.
• Prepare working drawings, construction plans, sections and details from the BIM model for project documentation.
• Participate in project coordination meetings to discuss progress, challenges and possible solutions with team members.
• Ensure the management and regular updating of the BIM model throughout the project life cycle.
• Attend and participate in internal and external BIM development meetings.
• Develop, implement, disseminate, enforce and update BIM standards for projects.
Requirements
• Degree in architecture, building technology, construction modeling, or in a related field.
• Experience using BIM software, preferably in construction or architecture, an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of architectural design and construction concepts and practices.
• Knowledge of BIM software such as Revit, ArchiCAD, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly and precisely.
• Strong sense of organization, precision and time management to meet project deadlines.
• Knowledge of building standards and codes applicable.
