Description
The Building Technician plays a crucial role within a construction company. He is responsible for providing essential technical support for the planning, coordination and execution of construction projects, contributing to the overall success of operations.
Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to engineers and site supervisors in the planning and coordination of construction projects.
• Interpret architectural plans, technical drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Carry out site visits to monitor the progress of the work, identify any problems and propose solutions.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure work is completed in accordance with quality standards and applicable regulations.
• Maintain technical documentation, including inspection reports, site surveys and checklists.
• Coordinate with the different teams on the site to ensure effective communication and harmonious collaboration.
• Provide administrative support such as preparing reports, managing schedules and coordinating meetings.
• Ensure that all activities on site take place in compliance with current health and safety standards.
Requirements
• Degree in building mechanics technology, architectural technology, civil engineering technology, architecture, or a diploma in building design, or in a related field.
• Experience in the construction field, an asset.
• Good knowledge of building standards and safety regulations.
• Good knowledge of computer-aided drawing (CAD) software and basic IT tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors and customers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Good organization and ability to meet deadlines and priorities.
