Description

The Construction Director is responsible for supervising the company's active projects in addition to being involved in the strategic vision of the organization. He plays a key role in managing and supervising all aspects of construction projects within the company. This professional is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and overall managing construction activities to ensure on-time, on-budget and high quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

    Develop, establish and maintain relationships and business opportunities in the region.
    Ensure continuous improvement of working methods and the project management cycle in order to increase the efficiency of the team.
    Focus on achieving results and optimize the allocation of your teams.
    Ensure fluid communication and effective collaboration within the team.
    Participate in the pre-development process (review of plans, value engineering, selection of project teams, development of schedules with the project teams.
    Participate in the development of the construction department's overall strategies based on the company's vision.
    Establish and maintain high standards in terms of procedures and working methods, as well as control the quality of deliverables from the opening to the closing of projects.
    Monitor the progress of construction sites with project managers and superintendents.
    Manage and track budgets, change orders and project closeouts.
    Analyze the profitability of different projects.
    Actively collaborate with the human resources department to ensure optimal management of work teams: analysis of short and medium-term workforce needs, responsibilities matrix, integration training and employee development, inter-project mobility, performance appraisal, work relations.
    Guide your teams through motivating leadership, promote employee retention and commitment to the company and act as an ambassador for the organization and its management practices.

Requirements

    Relevant academic training.
    Recognized knowledge and skills in construction project management.
    Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    Strong spirit of collaboration, oriented towards results and innovative solutions.
    Ability to manage several files simultaneously and good ability to manage tight deadlines.
    Leadership and ability to mobilize and develop teams.
    Know how to delegate and trust others.

    Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
