Description
The Elevator Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and modernization of elevators in various settings, including residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial environments. This professional plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and safety of mechanized transportation systems such as traction and hydraulic elevators, escalators, and moving walkways, according to the requirements of current standards, thus ensuring vertical mobility of people and goods within buildings.
Responsibilities
• Install elevator components according to plans and technical specifications.
• Perform necessary adjustments to ensure proper elevator operation.
• Test elevators to verify compliance with safety and performance standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of elevators to detect any potential issues.
• Lubricate, clean, and adjust elevator components to prevent breakdowns.
• Replace worn or defective parts as needed.
• Diagnose elevator malfunctions using specialized tools and equipment.
• Perform necessary repairs to restore defective elevators to working order.
• Test repaired elevators to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Propose and implement improvements to modernize existing elevators.
• Install new components or systems to enhance elevator performance and safety.
• Maintain up-to-date records of elevator maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare intervention reports and document work performed on elevators.
Requirements
• Degree a as an elevator mechanic, an asset.
• Previous mechanical experience.
• EDM-A license or EDM-B license mechanic, Certification in Electrical Installations, or equivalent, or meet the experience qualification, an asset.
• Previous experience in elevator installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Thorough knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to elevators.
• Skills in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical condition and ability to work at heights.
• Sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
