Description

The External Construction Sales Representative plays a crucial role in the growth and business development for a contractor in the construction sector, whether for residential, commercial, industrial or institutional projects. This professional is responsible for promoting the company's services, generating leads, closing contracts, and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

    Identify and contact potential new customers, including individuals, businesses, real estate developers and institutions, through field visits, telemarketing, networking and other prospecting means.
    Actively promote the company's construction services, showcasing its skills, expertise and achievements in the sector.
    Listen carefully to clients' construction needs and requirements, and recommend appropriate solutions based on their specifications, budgetary constraints and deadlines.
    Prepare and present personalized commercial offers to potential customers, highlighting the benefits and characteristics of the services offered.
    Negotiate commercial terms, prices, payment terms and delivery times with customers, ensuring that the company's sales and profitability objectives are achieved.
    Track and report sales activities, sales forecasts and results achieved, using customer relationship management (CRM) tools to ensure effective follow-up with prospects and customers.
    Provide quality customer service by responding to customer questions, concerns and requests in a professional and responsive manner.
    Maintain long-term relationships with existing customers by providing regular follow-up, anticipating their future needs and identifying new business opportunities.
    Conduct competitive intelligence to stay informed of market trends and competitors' sales strategies, in order to adapt the company's sales strategies accordingly.

Requirements

    Training in sales, commerce, or other related field, an asset.
    Experience in selling construction services, preferably as an outside sales representative, an asset.
    Knowledge of the construction industry, construction procedures and current regulations, an asset.
    Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills.
    Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities effectively.
    Results oriented with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales objectives.
    Mobility to travel in the field and meet with customers, as well as to attend professional events and trade shows.
    Comfortable with office software and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
    Excellent oral and written communication.
