Description

The Heavy Equipment Representative plays a crucial role within a manufacturing company or a distributor specializing in the construction sector. This professional is responsible for promoting and selling the company's heavy machinery equipment, while establishing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential customers.

Responsibilities

    Actively promote the company's heavy machinery equipment to potential customers, including contractors, construction companies, municipalities and independent contractors.
    Identify and contact new potential customers through field visits, telemarketing, trade show attendance and other prospecting activities.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers by providing quality customer service, answering their questions and advising them on products and solutions suited to their needs.
    Understand customer needs and requirements for heavy machinery equipment and recommend appropriate products based on their technical specifications, budgetary constraints and deadlines.
    Provide professional presentations of the company's heavy machinery equipment, highlighting their characteristics, advantages and added value compared to the competition.
    Negotiate commercial terms, prices and payment terms with customers, ensuring that the company's sales and profitability objectives are achieved.
    Track and report sales activities, sales forecasts and results achieved, using customer relationship management (CRM) tools to ensure effective follow-up with prospects and customers.
    Conduct competitive intelligence to stay informed of market trends, new products and competitors' sales strategies, in order to adapt the company's sales strategies accordingly.

Requirements

    Training in sales, commerce, mechanics or heavy machinery operation combined with relevant experience, or other related field, an asset.
    Experience in sales or commercial representation of heavy machinery, preferably in the construction or agricultural sector, an asset.
    Knowledge of heavy machinery equipment, their technical characteristics and their applications in the construction field, an asset.
    Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills.
    Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities effectively.
    Results oriented with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales objectives.
    Mobility to travel in the field and meet with customers, as well as to attend professional events and trade shows.
    Comfortable with office software and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
    Excellent oral and written communication.
