Description
The Industrial Pipefitter plays an essential role in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of industrial piping systems in various environments. This professional is responsible for guaranteeing the proper functioning and reliability of piping networks to ensure the efficient circulation of fluids in industrial installations.
Responsibilities
• Read and interpret plans and specifications to establish the work to be carried out.
• Prepare industrial work and joints using machines or manual or mechanical tools.
• Measure, cut and prepare the pipes to be assembled according to the required requirements.
• Assemble, attach and weld pipes using a variety of techniques, including arc welding, TIG welding and MIG welding.
• Install and connect valves, fittings, supports and piping control devices.
• Test piping systems for leaks and malfunctions, and make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform preventive maintenance on piping systems to ensure their proper functioning and extend their lifespan.
• Diagnose and repair breakdowns and failures in piping systems, including blockages, leaks and ruptures.
• Collaborate with other professionals in the field, such as welders, engineers and technicians, to ensure projects run smoothly.
• Comply with safety standards and building regulations during all piping operations.
• Check the tightness of the network using the appropriate equipment.
• Perform other related duties.
Requirements
• Degree in piping or a related field.
• Pipefitter certification or equivalent experience.
• Have experience in a similar position.
• Possess knowledge of the industrial field, an asset.
• Knowledge of various materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum and PVC).
• Skills in reading plans and interpreting technical specifications.
• Good knowledge of welding and pipe assembly techniques.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Attention to detail and compliance with quality and safety standards.
