Description

The Process, Instrumentation and Controls Technician plays a crucial role in a construction or civil engineering company, ensuring the design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems used in various industrial and infrastructure

Responsibilities

  •  Assist engineers in the design and drawing of instrumentation and controls systems, using CAD and modeling software.
  •  Install, configure and commission measuring instruments, sensors, actuators, process systems and control systems, following plans and technical specifications.
  •  Perform performance tests, calibration checks and adjustments on instrumentation and control equipment to ensure proper operation and accuracy.
  •  Carry out regular inspections and preventive maintenance operations on instrumentation and control systems to prevent breakdowns and maximize operational availability.
  •  Diagnose technical problems, identify underlying causes, and make necessary repairs to resolve malfunctions of instrumentation and control equipment.
  •  Maintain accurate documentation of interventions performed, tests performed and modifications made to systems, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  •  Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel to ensure proper and safe use of instrumentation and control systems.
  •  Monitor technological developments in the field of instrumentation and control, and recommend equipment improvements or upgrades based on business needs.

Requirements

  •  Degree in electrical engineering, industrial mechanics, automated systems engineering, industrial electronics technology, mechanical engineering or in a related field.
  •  Experience in an instrumentation and controls technician role, an asset.
  •  Knowledge of the basic principles of instrumentation, regulation and control of industrial processes.
  •  Knowledge of measuring instruments, sensors, actuators and control systems used in industry.
  •  Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively identify and resolve faults.
  •  Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities in a dynamic and changing environment.
  •  Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
  •  Excellent oral and written communication.
