Description
The Residential Drafter plays a crucial role in the construction process by transforming architectural concepts into detailed plans. This professional contributes to the realization of residential projects, producing precise technical drawings and collaborating closely with the design and construction teams.
Responsibilities
• Review architectural concepts and project specifications.
• Collaborate with clients, architects and engineers to understand technical requirements.
• Produce detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Ensure that drawings comply with industry standards and current regulations.
• Work closely with the design and construction teams.
• Incorporate comments and necessary changes throughout the design process.
• Develop detailed execution plans to guide construction teams in the field.
• Ensure the clarity and accuracy of information contained on plans.
• Organize and maintain accurate documentation of drawings and changes.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency of documentation.
Requirements
• Training in building drawing, architecture, or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in the field (construction, architecture, structure), an asset.
• Organized, structured thinking, good ability to concentrate and adapt.
• Good knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCad and/or Revit.
• Proficiency in reading plans.
• Good understanding of building regulations and codes.
