Description
The Civil Engineer plays a central role in the design, planning and management of civil engineering projects. Working closely with the design and construction teams, the civil engineer contributes to the success of diverse projects, ensuring quality, safety and compliance with industry standards. He may be required to participate in the design and planning of formwork, civil, architectural, mechanical, construction or repair work on bridge structures, buildings or hydraulic structures.
Responsibilities
• Participate in the initial planning of projects by assessing needs, resources and constraints.
• Collaborate with project management teams to establish schedules and budgets.
• Design detailed plans, technical specifications and perform calculations for civil engineering projects.
• Perform structural and geotechnical analyzes to ensure the stability of structures.
• Supervise activities on site to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Work closely with construction teams to resolve technical issues and ensure quality of work.
• Ensure compliance with civil engineering standards, municipal regulations and building codes.
• Carry out regular audits to ensure project compliance and security.
• Collaborate with civil engineering professionals, architects and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical advice and resolve challenges encountered throughout the project.
Requirements
• University degree in civil engineering or a relevant field, and have a recognized engineering license.
• Previous experience in civil engineering, ideally in the construction sector, an asset.
• Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and structural modeling software.
• In-depth knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
• Good knowledge of IT tools.
• Ability to write structured reports and recommendations.
