Description

The Continuous Improvement Engineer specializing in industrial mechanics is responsible for designing, implementing and optimizing mechanical processes and systems as part of industrial maintenance operations. This role aims to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, optimize equipment performance and ensure the quality of products and services.

Responsibilities

  •  Design, program and monitor the implementation of a corrective and preventive maintenance strategy on equipment for different clients.
  •  Establish and design a continuous improvement program that will be adapted to customers and their needs.
  •  Evaluate existing maintenance processes by identifying weaknesses, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  •  Design innovative mechanical solutions to improve maintenance processes, taking into account safety, quality and profitability aspects.
  •  Identify opportunities to optimize existing mechanical equipment to extend their life, improve their reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  •  Advise and provide technical support to services and clients by participating in project meetings and offering a personalized approach to the client according to their needs.
  •  Recommend the selection and modification of the most suitable production equipment for customers.
  •  Supervise major tests and contribute to the resolution of technical problems with customers.
  •  Manage any technical mechanical maintenance or technical assistance project.
  •  Ensure the accounting and administrative management of piloted projects.
  •  Work together with the team and the immediate superior to plan the workforce and future needs on its projects.
  •  Write procedures and technical manuals adapted for clients in order to standardize their processes.

Requirements

  •  University degree in mechanical engineering with a specialization in industrial maintenance, or a related field.
  •  Experience in the field of industrial maintenance, continuous improvement or mechanical engineering, an asset.
  •  Knowledge of the field of process mechanics, and electricity and automation, an asset.
  •  In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, manufacturing processes and industrial equipment.
  •  Good knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methods.
  •  Good knowledge of the Office Suite and MS Project.
  •  Advanced skills in data analysis and use of statistical analysis software.
  •  Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  •  Results orientation and ability to achieve goals in a dynamic and evolving environment.
