Description
Under the supervision of the BIM manager, the BIM Specialist's role is to support BIM users and coordinators to enable them to achieve BIM and technological objectives related to construction projects. They must fully master the technologies and software used in BIM processes and on construction sites. Specialists develop working methodologies with BIM tools and ensure the application of company standards.
They act as specialized technical support for project teams and participate in the improvement of BIM processes. In certain circumstances they can participate in the assembly or maintenance of 3D models, 4D schedules or 5D estimates. BIM specialists support discipline BIM Managers in the application of various BIM uses. Finally, they manage the company's BIM applications. They test them, validate them and write or update the documentation.
Responsibilities
• Act as a BIM specialist and advise project teams and users on the approach to take on construction projects.
• Train users on BIM and CAD drawing software and applications (Revit., Navisworks, BIM360, AutoCad Civil 3D).
• Develop parametric content in BIM software.
• Support users using our BIM360 platforms.
• Create and maintain BIM standards.
• Help resolve project delivery issues for construction teams using BIM tools.
• Model content and update building models.
• Assist the IT development team with questions related to software development.
• Participate in local BIM conferences.
Requirements
• Experience in BIM in the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
• Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, Architectural Technology or MEP Technology, or a combination of training and experience in the construction industry.
• Expertise in BIM project coordination and collaboration.
• A passion for technology.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent command of BIM software, in particular: REVIT, Navisworks, BIM 360, and Microsoft suites, etc.
• Knowledge of programming languages, an asset
• Have good technical knowledge in architecture, mechanics, electricity and/or plumbing.
