Description
The Interior Covering Installer is responsible for installing various floor, wall and ceiling coverings inside buildings, as part of residential, commercial, institutional and industrial projects. It plays a vital role in the aesthetic and functional improvement of interior spaces by precisely applying a range of coatings according to the needs of the project.
Responsibilities
• Review project plans, drawings and specifications to understand interior covering requirements.
• Inspect, measure and mark the surfaces to be covered.
• Measure, cut and fit the underlayment.
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings.
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling and making necessary repairs before installing coatings.
• Remove existing floor coverings and residue.
• Install different types of flooring, including wood, tile, vinyl, linoleum and carpet, following proper installation methods.
• Install wall coverings, such as wallpaper, wood panels, ceramic tiles and others, following the manufacturer's patterns and specifications.
• Install ceiling coverings, such as gypsum boards, acoustic tiles and other materials, following installation instructions.
• Apply adhesives, sealants and sealants as needed to ensure secure, long-lasting installation of coverings.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of the installation by respecting industry standards and regularly verifying the work accomplished.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to coordinate work and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
Requirements
• Experience in the installation of interior coverings in the residential, commercial, institutional or industrial sectors, an asset.
• Knowledge of different types of floor, wall and ceiling coverings and corresponding installation methods.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Concern for quality and precision in the execution of installation tasks.
• Knowledge of safety standards on construction sites and compliance with safety rules.
