Description
The Roofer Foreman works within a company specializing in roofing work for the residential, commercial, institutional and industrial sectors. This position combines both foreman and roofer responsibilities, requiring both team supervision and roofing work execution skills.
Responsibilities
• Supervise teams of roofers on construction sites, ensuring effective coordination of work and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Manage subcontractors who carry out work on construction sites.
• Plan and organize daily tasks for roofing crews, assigning tasks based on skills and workload.
• Actively participate in the execution of roofing work, installing, repairing and maintaining roofs according to project specifications.
• Ensure training and skills development of roofing team members, providing guidance and instruction to improve performance.
• Coordinate deliveries of materials and ensure their availability on construction sites, taking into account the specific needs of each project.
• Conduct regular inspections on job sites to assess the quality of work, identify potential problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards on construction sites, ensuring that personal protective equipment is used and providing training on safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers to inform them of the progress of the work and respond to their questions or concerns.
• Manage job site reports, including hours worked, materials used and issues encountered, ensuring documents are complete and accurate.
• Collaborate with other trades on the site to ensure effective coordination of the work and resolve any problems.
Requirements
• Experience in supervision or team management, an asset.
• Advanced experience in the installation of various types of roofs.
• Training in roof covering installation, an asset.
• Hold a valid certification for your occupation, an asset.
• Certification in health and safety on construction sites.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Extensive knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications, an asset.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
• Commitment to quality work and customer service.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including overtime as needed.
