Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and maintain the master project schedule using MS Project or Primavera P6
• Create and implement Health, Safety and Environmental plans
• Review contracts to confirm that scope, schedules and deliverables align with project requirements
• Coordinate equipment needs with the Equipment Management team
• Assist in selecting and managing trade subcontractors
• Conduct constructability reviews to add value during the execution phase
• Plan, organize and oversee daily construction operations, providing leadership to junior staff as assigned
• Interpret and enforce all master and subcontractor contract requirements
• Prepare and monitor 2‑ and 6‑week resource‑loaded schedules; measure productivity and progress against the master schedule
• Optimize site logistics to maximize efficiency and minimize deficiencies across all trades, suppliers and employees
• Set up and maintain a clean, organized worksite and ensure proactive quality management to reduce deficiencies
• Approve timesheets and lead daily hazard assessments and weekly toolbox talks
• Chair weekly subcontractor progress meetings, holding teams accountable to the master schedule
• Manage materials: purchasing, tracking and forecasting inventory
• Review all subcontractor submittals and support development of commissioning and turnover plans
• Resolve deficiencies to meet final completion deadlines and manage project risks per the Risk Management Plan
• Communicate daily with the Project Manager and project team, escalating issues as needed
• Attend owner and stakeholder meetings throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure all permits, inspections, certifications and turnover documentation are completed on time
• Champion health, safety and regulatory compliance on site
• Provide cost‑effective solutions to construction challenges
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 10 years’ experience managing civil infrastructure projects
• Strong contract administration skills and familiarity with drawings, specifications and building codes
• Proven expertise in budgeting, cost control and scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6)
• Proficiency with MS Office, Procore, SAP and document management systems
• Demonstrated leadership ability, including mentoring and coaching project teams
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work extended hours, navigate stairs/ ladders and perform physical tasks on uneven terrain
