Description
The BIM Modeler - Civil Engineering plays a key role in the design and modeling of civil engineering projects using BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology. You are responsible for creating detailed 3D models of civil infrastructure such as roads, bridges, tunnels, hydraulic structures, formwork projects, excavation, while integrating data related to design, construction and to project management.
Responsibilities
• Use BIM software such as Autodesk Civil 3D to create and modify 3D models of civil engineering projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and other project team members to understand project requirements and translate concepts into accurate BIM models.
• Model and plan changes made during the project to enable costing.
• Create model elements such as topographic surfaces, profiles, infrastructure networks, and cross sections.
• Integrate geospatial data, field surveys, design data and project specifications into the BIM model.
• Ensure model coordination with other disciplines such as architecture, structure and utilities to ensure project integrity and compatibility.
• Perform analyzes and simulations such as stormwater flow analysis, road traffic analysis, and slope stability analysis.
• Prepare construction drawings, execution plans, and technical reports from the BIM model.
• Participate in project coordination meetings to discuss progress, challenges and possible solutions with team members.
• Attend and participate in internal and external BIM development meetings
• Ensure the management and regular updating of the BIM model throughout the project life cycle.
• Develop, implement, disseminate, enforce and update BIM standards for projects.
Requirements
• Degree related to the field of construction modeling, or in a related field.
• Previous experience in the field of civil engineering, an asset.
• Knowledge of civil engineering concepts and practices, including infrastructure design principles.
• Having worked with software such as Autodesk Civil 3D or Revit, Infrawork, Inventor and Naviswork, Tekla, an asset.
• Skills in programming and creating automated tools in Autodesk Dynamo software, an asset.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly and precisely.
• Strong sense of organization, precision and time management to meet project deadlines.
