Description
The Civil Engineering Project Technician supports engineers and project managers in planning, technical follow‑up and coordination of sites (roads, pipelines, infrastructure, earthworks, etc.). They prepare and update technical documentation, monitor work progress and act as liaison between the office and field teams. This role requires solid knowledge of civil‑engineering methods and standards, strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.

Prepare and review execution drawings, specifications, bill of quantities and technical data sheets in collaboration with engineers.
Perform basic topographical surveys and coordinate field measurements.
Update the project schedule (MS Project or equivalent) and track each phase’s timeline.
Produce and revise technical drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation or equivalent.
Monitor daily work progress: quantities installed, machine hours, consumables, etc.
Compile and analyze field data to adjust cost and schedule forecasts.
Write progress reports, site diaries and meeting minutes.
Ensure compliance of work with standards, permits and contractual specifications.
Coordinate with external stakeholders (suppliers, subcontractors, municipal authorities) to circulate documents and obtain approvals.
Attend site meetings and enforce safety and quality directives.Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Practical experience in project follow‑up or civil‑engineering design office is an asset.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation or equivalent software.
• Familiarity with MS Project (or Smartsheet, Primavera) and office tools (Excel, Word).
• Ability to read, interpret and annotate topographical plans and infrastructure schematics.
• Capability to perform basic field surveys using GPS, total station or similar equipment.
• Strong organizational skills, rigor and autonomy in managing multiple files simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to liaise with engineers, site teams and clients.
• Valid driver’s license and availability for frequent site visits.
