Description
The Electrical Project Manager plays a crucial role in the management and coordination of electrical installation projects, whether multi-residential, commercial, institutional or industrial. This professional is responsible for the planning, execution and monitoring of these projects, ensuring that they are completed within defined deadlines, budgets and quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Plan, organize and coordinate all phases of electrical installation projects, from initial design to final completion, taking into account the specific requirements of each project.
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for submissions, in conjunction with the team of technicians and draftsmen.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, required resources and task lists, in collaboration with internal teams and subcontractors.
• Participate and lead, depending on the projects, start-up meetings with clients and professionals involved.
• Supervise and lead work teams in the field, ensuring coordination of activities, distribution of tasks and monitoring of progress.
• Ensure administrative management of the project, including writing progress reports, managing scope changes, holding follow-up meetings and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret technical specifications and ensure project requirements are met.
• Ensure the quality of the work on site in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Analyze the cost of change notices, prepare change notices and site directives and make the necessary recommendations to the client.
• Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with current safety standards, by implementing risk prevention measures and ensuring staff training on safety procedures.
• Manage the financial aspects of the project, including estimating costs, tracking expenses, managing invoices and meeting allocated budgets.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting their needs, keeping them informed of the progress of the project and effectively handling any issues and concerns that may arise.
• Ensure technological monitoring to stay up to date on trends and innovations in the field of electricity, proposing innovative and effective solutions to improve processes and project results.
Requirements
• Degree in electrical engineering, project management, or any other related field.
• Relevant experience in building electricity, an asset.
• Project management skills, including planning, organizing, coordination and monitoring.
• Master the codes and standards in force (electrical code, CNB, CSA and others).
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of project management software, such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent, an asset.
• Safety course on construction sites, an asset.
• Very good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines and budgets.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
• Developed sense of organization, problem solving and decision-making.
