Description
The Estimator Project Manager - Building is responsible for estimating costs and managing residential, commercial, institutional and/or industrial construction projects. This role involves in-depth analysis of project plans and specifications, as well as working closely with clients, subcontractors and project team members to ensure successful and profitable projects.
Responsibilities
• Analyze project plans, drawings and specifications to determine quantities of materials, labor and equipment required.
• Ensure monitoring, preparation and submission of submissions from clients and public tenders.
• Prepare accurate construction cost estimates, including costs for materials, labor, subcontracting and overhead.
• Prepare detailed submissions in response to calls for tenders for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial construction projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate the best prices and terms.
• Ensure effective management of assigned construction projects, including planning, organizing and coordinating necessary resources.
• Monitor the progress of projects, identify deviations from initial estimates and propose solutions to resolve them.
• Communicate regularly with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and project team members to ensure smooth collaboration and meet project needs.
• Participate in site meetings and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
Requirements
• Experience in estimating construction projects, in building, an asset.
• Degree in construction estimation, civil engineering or a related field.
• Experience estimating construction projects, preferably in the residential, commercial, institutional or industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of construction estimating software, such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, Timberline, or others.
• Skills in reading plans and interpreting technical specifications.
• Ability to work independently, with attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent priority management, organizational skills and good adaptability.
• Developed sense of customer service and team spirit
• Versatility and resourcefulness.
• Strong mathematical skills and good knowledge of industry standards, building codes, municipal regulations and construction materials.
• Be rigorous, analytical, methodical and committed to a job well done.
