Description
The Excavation Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities related to excavation on construction sites. He is responsible for ensuring that excavation work is carried out safely, on time and to established quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate excavation work on construction sites, ensuring that it is carried out in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Organize and plan the activities of the excavation team, including task assignment and management of human and material resources.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards on site, implementing safe work practices and ensuring all personnel follow established safety protocols.
• Monitor excavation operations to ensure proper use of excavation equipment and techniques, and resolve problems or challenges encountered in the field.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers involved in excavation work, ensuring they meet quality standards and delivery times.
• Carry out regular site inspections to assess work progress, identify potential problems and propose appropriate solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of excavation activities, including progress reports, quantity surveys and incident reports.
• Participate in site meetings and coordination meetings to ensure effective communication and harmonious collaboration on the site.
• Train and supervise members of the excavation team, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their work safely and efficiently.
• Resolve execution problems and recommend possible solutions.
• Order equipment and supplies.
Requirements
• Relevant experience in the field of excavation, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Thorough knowledge of excavation techniques, types of equipment and materials used in excavation work.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality of work, with a thorough understanding of safety standards and regulations.
• Hold a valid construction site health and safety course card.
• Leadership skills and the ability to lead a team on site, fostering a collaborative and safe work environment.
• Make it easier to clearly communicate your expectations.
• Ability to analyze a problem and find safe solutions.
• Be resourceful by nature.
• Possess a driving license.
