Description
The role of Foreman - Mechanical Pipefitter involves supervising and coordinating work related to the installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing, heating, electrical, medical gas and mechanical manufacturing systems. This position requires in-depth knowledge of industry standards and practices, as well as leadership skills to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
• Plan daily activities on construction sites, including the allocation of necessary human, material and financial resources.
• Supervise, coordinate and plan the work of apprentices, journeymen, pipefitter helpers and laborers.
• Organize work teams and subcontractors to maximize productivity and meet deadlines.
• Supervise and lead work teams in the field to ensure the quality and compliance of the work carried out.
• Give clear and precise instructions to workers and subcontractors to ensure the efficient progress of the work.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is completed according to project specifications and industry standards.
• Identify and correct construction defects or non-conformities as soon as they are detected.
• Collaborate with other trades on site, including electricians, plumbers, to ensure effective coordination of work.
• Communicate with site supervisors and other team members to ensure good communication and harmonious collaboration.
• Manage material resources such as tools, equipment and materials required for the work.
• Supervise the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
• Resolve work-related problems and ensure that you take the necessary measures to increase productivity.
• Respect the project schedule and procedures.
• Participate in site and company meetings.
• Order supplies and equipment.
• Write schedules and other reports.

Requirements
• Studies / diploma in plumbing, heating or a related field, an asset.
• Previous experience as a pipefitter or similar position in the construction field.
• Good understanding of technical specifications in plumbing and mechanics.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and technical specifications.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• General technical computer skills.
