The Formwork Estimator plays a crucial role within a construction company specializing in building and civil engineering formwork projects. Responsible for assessing costs and preparing accurate estimates for these projects, this individual contributes to ensuring their financial and operational success.
Responsibilities
• Carefully review architectural plans, technical specifications, and tender documents to understand the specific requirements of the formwork project.

• Analyze drawings and specifications to identify formwork needs and evaluate the necessary quantities.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers for formwork materials, comparing offers to select the most cost-effective options.
• Utilize specialized software to prepare detailed estimates, integrating quantitative data with unit prices and overheads to establish an overall budget for the formwork project.
• Prepare comprehensive estimate proposals, explaining cost details and addressing questions from clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and other team members to ensure estimates meet the project requirements and budget objectives.
Requirements
• Degree in estimation, civil engineering, construction, or any relevant combination of education and experience.
• Relevant experience in estimating building and civil engineering formwork projects, an asset.
• Knowledge of formwork materials, techniques, and associated costs is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and computer tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret engineering plans and technical specifications.
