Description
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems in industrial environments. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of electrical equipment and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Install and connect industrial electrical systems, including cables, distribution cabinets, control panels, motors and transformers, following plans and specifications.
• Install, check, replace and repair electrical cables, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other components.
• Perform testing of electrical and electronic equipment and components to verify continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain, repair, install and test switching devices, transformers, distribution panel meters, regulators and reactors.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, identifying problems, replacing defective components and making necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Perform inspections of electrical systems for signs of deterioration or malfunction, and make repairs or replacements as necessary to prevent breakdowns.
• Ensuring the conformity of electrical installations, and making the necessary modifications according to requirements.
• Work in compliance with current electrical safety standards, using appropriate personal protective equipment and ensuring the safety of people and property on the site.
• Maintain documentation of work carried out, including intervention reports, quantity statements and lists of materials used, to ensure traceability of interventions.
• Collaborate with other trades on the site to coordinate the work and ensure the smooth running of the project.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay up to date on new technologies, safe work practices and electrical regulations.
• Perform any other related task required by the position.
Requirements
• Degree in electricity or electromechanics, or in a related field.
• Valid electrician certification.
• Valid competency certificate.
• Experience in the field of industrial electricity, preferably in the construction and civil engineering industry, an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and electrical diagrams.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Flexibility to work on different sites and availability to work according to project schedules.
