Description
The Masonry Laborer position involves assisting masons in various tasks related to the construction, repair and restoration of masonry structures, for residential, commercial, institutional, industrial and civil engineering projects. The main role of this position is to provide essential support on site to ensure efficient and quality work while respecting safety standards.
Responsibilities
• Assist with site setup by preparing tools, materials and equipment needed for masonry work.
• Transport construction materials and tools to and from job site.
• Assist masons in preparing surfaces, mixing mortar, laying bricks, blocks or stones, and performing other construction tasks.
• Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently as directed by the mason in charge.
• Clean the job site and equipment at the end of each work day to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Assist with general maintenance of masonry tools and equipment.
• Provide general support to masons by responding to their requests and performing other tasks as assigned as required by the job site.
• Performs all other tasks required by his immediate superior.
Requirements
• Previous experience in a similar position in construction is an asset.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Good physical condition to perform physically demanding tasks on the construction site.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• Compliance with safety standards on the construction site.
