Description

The Refrigeration Technician - Residential is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems in residential environments. This role involves the ability to work with a variety of equipment and technologies to ensure the comfort and safety of clients in their homes.

Responsibilities

  •  Install, replace and commission air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems in residences.
  •  Perform routine inspections and performance tests on existing equipment to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  •  Repair or replace faulty components in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems, such as compressors, evaporators and condensers.
  •  Perform regular preventative maintenance to extend the life of equipment and ensure its efficiency.
  •  Diagnose breakdowns and malfunctions in air conditioning and heating systems and make necessary repairs.
  •  Comply with safety standards and regulations regarding equipment installation and repair.
  •  Communicate effectively with customers to explain problems, proposed solutions and associated costs.
  •  Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used and hours worked.

Requirements

  •  Degree in refrigeration or a related field.
  •  Valid refrigeration specialist certification.
  •  Experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of residential air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems, an asset.
  •  Good problem solving and diagnostic skills.
  •  Ability to work independently and in a team.
  •  Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  •  Good verbal and written communication skills.
