Description
The Welder-assembler, also known as a Metal structure fitter or Structural Assembler, is responsible for reading and interpreting technical plans in order to assemble and assemble metal structures such as frames, beams and frames. This position requires technical skills and in-depth knowledge of welding and metal joining techniques.
Responsibilities
• Read and interpret technical plans, engineering drawings and specifications to determine assembly requirements.
• Assemble and mount prestressed structural elements, made of steel or made of any other similar material.
• Participate in the construction of bridges, viaducts, dam gates, towers, silos and buildings.
• Apply rigging, bolting, welding and assembly processes to structural components such as beams, columns and joists.
• Manufacture, assemble and install architectural elements made of metal or other similar materials, such as stairs, balconies, guardrails, fences or canopies.

• Make precise measurements and use measuring instruments to ensure proper alignment and fit of metal parts.
• Weld and assemble metal parts following appropriate welding procedures, respecting safety and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the construction team, including welders, riggers and crane operators, to coordinate activities on site.
• Visually inspect assembled parts for defects, imperfections or quality issues and make adjustments as necessary.
• Adhere to site safety standards and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Regularly clean and maintain tools, equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and orderly work environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, foremen and other team members to coordinate tasks and resolve potential problems.
• Meet project deadlines and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in the work.
Requirements
• Knowledge of assembly, assembly and welding techniques for metal structures.
• Knowledge related to the application of mathematics, metallurgical concepts, as well as reading manufacturing and installation plans.
