Description
The Building Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating projects related to mechanical systems (plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, etc.) in the field of commercial, industrial and institutional construction. They ensure the planning, coordination and efficient completion of projects while respecting quality standards and deadlines.
Responsibilities
• Plan, organize and coordinate building mechanics projects, in collaboration with clients, subcontractors and team members.
• Evaluate mechanical system needs according to project specifications and technical requirements.
• Develop plans and specifications for mechanical systems, detailing materials required, installation methods and associated costs.
• Manage supplies and deliveries of materials to construction sites.
• Supervise the execution of work on site, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Document and maintain all project records, including progress reports and work statements.
• Manage the budget allocated to the project, controlling costs and making adjustments if necessary.
• Monitor project progress and resolve potential issues that may arise along the way.
• Collaborate with other departments of the company to ensure smooth integration of mechanical systems into the overall project.
• Provide high quality customer service by responding to inquiries and offering technical advice.
Requirements
• Degree in mechanical engineering, building mechanics or a related field.
• Experience in managing building mechanics projects, preferably in the commercial, industrial and/or institutional sector, an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and construction industry standards.
• Project management, planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in relevant computer software, such as project management tools and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
