Description
The Interior Systems Estimator plays a pivotal role in accurately assessing and estimating costs for interior construction projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. This position involves analyzing project requirements, collaborating with various stakeholders, and providing precise cost estimates to support successful project execution.
Responsibilities
• Read, analyze and interpret plans and specifications.
• Analyze, plan and estimate the stages, duration and costs of materials and labor for the completion of projects.
• Process submissions within requested deadlines.
• Submit bids and follow up until the contractor's decision.
• Call on current and potential suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure good communication regarding the various costs and deadlines.
• Act as a reference during project execution.
• Receive suggestions and complaints from suppliers, subcontractors, project managers and foremen regarding costs and deadlines.
• Participate, where possible, in site committee meetings.
• Ensure teamwork, both with project managers and with foremen and subcontractors on construction sites.
• Make presentations and close submissions.
• May be required to make site visits as needed.
• May be required to support and manage subcontractors in their projects.
• Perform any other tasks as requested by superiors.
Requirements
• Studies and diploma in estimation or any other relevant field.
• Experience in construction estimating and interior systems, an asset.
• Good knowledge of construction materials.
• Master reading plans and specifications.
• Analytical mind and very detailed.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry standards.
• Knowledge of estimation software(s).
• Knowledge of general softwares (Microsoft Office Suite, OneDrive, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.).
