Description
The Site Superintendent - Civil Engineering is responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of civil engineering projects, from planning through completion. This role requires in-depth civil engineering expertise, as well as project management and leadership skills to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and on budget.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement detailed construction plans, in collaboration with the project management team.
• Coordinate activities on site with subcontractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities.
• Supervise and direct work teams on site to ensure compliance with quality, safety and compliance standards.
• Give clear and precise instructions to workers and subcontractors to ensure efficient progress of the work.
• Manage the project's human, material and financial resources, ensuring their efficient use and appropriate allocation.
• Oversee site logistics, including delivery of materials, equipment and temporary installations.
• Carry out regular inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
• Implement corrective measures in the event of defects or non-conformities.
• Communicate regularly with project team members, clients and stakeholders to ensure good coordination and resolve potential issues.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, financial statements and other necessary management documents.
Requirements
• Degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Experience in site management or as a superintendent in the field of civil engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering construction standards and practices.
• Have good knowledge of reading plans and specifications
• Leadership, team management and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
